Winlink Registration

Can someone explain to my what is going on. I opened my RMS Express and was told I now have to pay money to register my callsign. What happened to cruisers helping crusiers?

  1. Roger Registration fee is optional. per recent FAQ
Registration is NOT required: You can always use Winlink Express with full functionality without purchasing a key. However, if you don't enter a registration key, Winlink Express will display a popup reminder screen asking you to please register. Although not technically a donation, the purchase of a registration key supports the Amateur Radio Safety Foundation and the Winlink system. You should consult with your tax advisor whether the purchase is tax-deductible for you.

More on the Indonesian volcano. We are now 300 nautical miles west of it. We met many nice people in our visit to the area. We hope the are all safe.
