When I am down working on Reboot I frequently run into other sailors and boaters. Since talking is a lot more fun than working I like to strike up a conversation when I can.A couple of days ago I ran into David Johnsen. He is the current Flotilla Commander of the USCG Auxiliary Flotilla 5-17 in Waukesha. We chatted a bit about the local Coast Guard Flotillas and David dropped that 5-17 is actively looking for new members. Also on their agenda for the summer is to get more visibility on the inland Wisconsin lakes rather than just focusing on Lake Michigan. I was also told that it didn't matter that I didn't own a powerboat, I was still welcome.
